The University of Kentucky has state-of-the-art MRI facilities including a Siemens 1.5T Aera for clinical and research applications, a Siemens 3T Trio dedicated to research, and a Bruker 7T Clinscan small-animal research MRI. We are collaborating with investigators at Boston Children's Hospital to explore cardiac mechanics using MRI in patients with congenital heart disease. We are also using knowledge gained from animal models to investigate the cardiovascular complications of obesity in humans.
This position will be part of a team working on a project focusing on advanced quantification of cardiac function using MRI.
We are seeking individuals who have experience in human and/or small-animal cardiac MRI acquisition and post-processing. Experience with MATLAB programming and image processing is required. Experience in cardiac modeling (including finite elements) is a plus.
